No photos to share with this post, but there’s a reason for that… On October 31, 2006, I was in the middle of a week-and-a-half trip at Walt Disney World with my then girlfriend (now wife). That morning we ate breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at the Polynesian Resort, and planned on riding the Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror in honor of the day. I also planned on proposing to her while riding the Haunted Mansion, because it was Halloween and I’m cool like that. I took pictures of us with the characters during breakfast, and some snapshots getting into the Magic Kingdom. The Haunted Mansion was the first ride we rode, and I popped the question when our Doom Buggy stopped, and she said yes. Yay! Breaking the rules, I took a flash-assisted photo us of just after the happy moment. After we exited the mansion, we posed for a photo wearing Santa hats in front of the gates, with the help of a cast member who snapped the shot. Spent the rest of day running ourselves ragged, and then I dumped the pictures onto my laptop that evening. The first picture was of us in front of the Mansion, everything prior to that was gone. After four years of shooting digital, this remains the only time pictures have vanished. I do not think it was human error, but I think the Ghost Host had his revenge for not following instructions.
