Kilimanjaro Safaris, anyone? [This attachment has been purged. Older attachments are purged from time to time to conserve disk space. Please feel free to repost your image.]
Lovely bright sunlight colors there. Looks like you had just come through the lower savannah, around the termite mounds, and looking to the left at the giraffe hill? One of the first things that blew me away about AK was the week it opened, and going on this ride - seeing the awesome landscaping, and imported plants, that all mimic the real thing right in the middle of tropical Florida - was just amazing. Attention to detail, from landscaping, architecture, to all the various scenics and set pieces, is a clear head above the others at AK. Obvious that Disney used all their experience and knowledge from previous parks, and dropped it all on AK. Here's a very late day shot of the 'savannah view' as you come over the hill and get the first view...unfortunately it was a tad cloudy, but the very low sun gave a little warmth to the color: Going on the Kilimanjaro Safari and taking pictures of things other than the animals must be one of the things that separates Disney nuts like us from normal people!
Looks familiar.... <img src="http://www.themeparkphotos.us/g/g2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5746" />
Darn Scott...your shot is framed from just about the same square foot of turf as mine! Yours is wider, and the light is better...but the angle and composition are just about identical. I guess if you're going to copy someone, copy the best. So thanks for copying me. ;D
