Sat down last night and watched Camp Rock with DW & DD 9. DD 14 was over at a friends where some of her contemporairies watched it. My girls no longer like the HSM franchise but enjoyed Camp Rock. I also preferred CR over HSM. Not bad ratings either for Disney. http://www.variety.com/article/VR111798 ... Id=14&cs=1 Quote from some of the cast on the hardships of shooting in Canada in another article. http://www.mercurynews.com/vc/ci_9632599 Even when they had to dance all day long for days on end, they had each other for support, Lovato says. Even when the movie's producers took them to a remote location in Canada, "where there was no Internet or phone service and there were bears," they still had one another, Stoner adds. Funny any sets I've been on have internet & telecom via satellite if none are availble via traditional methods. Glad to see their comments won't add to any Canadian sterotypes.
Yes ... had to sit through it ... DD8 LOVES the Jonas brothers ; : ; The Disney marketing/franchising machine is amazing. What's next?! Spring Break the clean, pre-teen musical ;
I found CR to more entertaining an less annoying than HSM. It would have been nice to have some ; Keith Richards type character stumbling around the camp recounting old tour stories.
Thanks to time shifting we was it this afternoon. I didn't like camp rock it was well campy and very predictable you would think they could write an interesting story. I didn't think the music was a catchy as HSM. My daughter however is so over HSM and thought this was better. Obviously this wasn't written for a 40 year old father of two.
DD (nearly 12) still "likes"HSM, but tells me she preferred Camp Rock. ; I think it has something to do with the Jonas brothers... but everytime I say something to that effect, she gives me a swat!!!
I watched bits and pieces of it. ; I didn't like it as much as the HSM movies, but for a movie for kids, it was pretty good.
