Came home from work the other day to find a note from UPS. Our Photobook has arrived, great! Then I read the fine print and I owe them $34.49 for a "Brokerage Fee", I guess the money Disney charged for shipping wasn't enough. OK, fine, bite the bullet, just get it, right. Call the 800 number and get a computer that tells me the same thing the card says, no options, just will keep trying to deliver it. Helloooo, we work for a living therefore no one home. At least Puralator gives you an option to go pick it up and doesn't charge you half the value of the product to receive it. Am I to take a day off and wait for it to arrive and lose a day's pay? Ah but which day??? No one to talk to ; , OK I'll look on the website, reading through a rocket motor manual is easier, at least it's more informative.

I've read on other boards about this Brokerage Fee. But Disney did not give you a choice, UPS or nothing. I could have waited for snail mail but it was not an option. This is a complete rip off, I have ordered other things online from the States and have never been charged this much for anything.

Left a check in an envelope taped to the door and received my book but the kicker was the envelope was thrown on the walkway. Was it worth it??? It is a great product and at $70 not to bad but then you add UPS's money grab it is over a hundred bucks. I could not have done anything as good so it was a nice purchase for us. But I still feel robbed.

    Thanks for reading my rant.
    Chris.

I feel your pain. I was nailed with the UPS brokerage fees before also. I now refuse to accept a shipment from UPS. I always tell the shipper if they ship UPS to prepay brokerage or ship with someone else. I have received shipments from most other shipping companies and UPS is the only one that has ever charged me this ridiculous fee. Now having said that Disney is pretty good with prepaying the fees I received my Photo pass CD with UPS and there were no additional charges. For $35 bucks I think it would be worth you calling Disney ; guest services and ranting to them.

Any UPS stuff I've gotten from the US has never had a brokerage fee.
    I guess I've been lucky.

The brokerage fee has nothing to do with shipping. ; It's the fee that certain couriers charge to have your goods clear customs.

There is a way to avoid paying the brokerage fee. Instead of the courier company clearing customs, YOU can do the job. All it takes is a little leg work.
