Recently, access to To Top of the World has eased slightly. Access is now allowed to ANY DVC member STAYING at Bay Lake Tower on CASH or POINTS! Also, the DVC member is allowed to bring guests. Only the DVC member staying at BLT is required to show their room key to the check in desk!

Craig, three questions: 1) What was the previous rule? ; I heard that it was any DVC member staying at BLT using points. 2) What is the policy on bringing guests? ; A friend of ours is going to be staying there in October (on his DVC points) and has invited us, if we are allowed to go up there. ; We are also DVC members, but will be staying at a Value. ; (But we will at least have the Member IDs to flash if asked). 3) What are the hours? ; We wouldn't be going until at least 2 hours after Wishes. ; I assume if it is still open, it won't be nearly as busy.
yes, that was the old rule. Only DVC members staying on points were allowed to go. and all members of the party, including kids were required to show their room key. yes, your friend can take you up there! I just modified the original post to show this. the lounge is open from 5pm to midnight. the lounge does get busier during Wishes, but it is not overcrowded.
Craig, What I was told by DVC back after BLT opened was that the lounge was only open to BLT DVC members staying on points. ; Not just any member staying on points. ;
Hey Craig...are you staying there for Pixelmania? ; You can test their 'bring a friend' rule by bringing all of Pixelmania up there. ; They'll probably change the rules back the next day. ;
One more question, Craig, what all can you see from the Top of the World Lounge? ; I know you can see the MK (Castle, Tomorrowland, etc.), but is it a 360 degree lounge? ; Will shots of the GF, Poly, and Wilderness be possible?
Craig can confirm...but based on what I've seen from Contemporary's roof and from other properties, I'd guess: ; You can see MK, GF, and probably Poly is slightly or fully blocked by Contemporary, unless you can see over the top. ; I don't think you'll see much of Wilderness, mostly because from Wilderness you can't see much of Contemporary or BLT. ; Probably some of the roof, but mostly trees. ; Again...just my guess based on nearby views.
I miss the old Top of the World. We used to go up for drinks at the bar and the dinner theater was awesome. Going out on the observation deck was really nice in the evening. You did not have to worry about eating or ADR's back then, you just went up! Next best thing is to go out on the exterior stairs on the North end of the Contemporary.
