I'm guessing that subwavelength coating is similar to Nikon's Nano coating. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contr ... elid=17623 Not really surprised by this one, this "we're the only one who has one" lens has been considered subpar compared to the 35/1.4L. Probably also because the old version's problems are more evident with the 21.1MP sensor.
