Tim, you can pull my 8GB ExtIV card from my cold, dead fingers.....

With that being said, it appears Sandisk has rebates going on right now.

8gb ridata, 47.74 with ny sales tax and 1-5 day usps shipping

i just ordered it sunday, i'll post up how it works when i have it for a couple of weeks, all goes well i'll probably order a couple more for the cruise, still cheaper than getting a portable drive with screen, and easier to bring a few cards than a laptop, plus it's my old fear of a drive crash with an entire 15 day cruise worth of irreplaceable photos on it

over on miranda's site a lot of pros have been using ridata with very few or no failures, i've been using transcend for the last year or so, 4gb, with no problems

    Tim,

You won't need your epson to pull off pictures if you acquire an 8GB card.

Ive got an 8GB Ultra III. It's wonderful. And almost necessary when one shoots in RAW as much as I do.

Bah. I was so thrilled to find 4 gig Ultra II cards for $28 at Costco. I still think it's a great deal, but that 8 gig deal is pretty good. As is I have more CF storage than I've ever used in any single trip ever (16 gig with four 4 gig cards plus something like 3-4 2 gig cards), I couldn't justify picking up any more 4 gig cards. I'm sure I'll get some 8 gig cards when they get a bit cheaper still, but so far I just have no need for anything else, even as I'm starting to take more RAW pictures.

Sandisk just ended a round of rebates, but the price of UDMA 8gb cards is outrageous compared to the Ultra II and even Extreme III series right now. I'm on the sidelines waiting for those prices to come down.
