this is what happens in open wheel racing, especially sprints, when the wheels touch, all drivers walked away, although one driver did need to be steadied a little, the one with the bottom of the car straight on crsa sprints, a lower budget 305ci starter sprint car, but they still flip fast, taken at rolling wheels raceway, elbridge ny, saturday night 10/11/08, 5/8 mile, that's a much bigger track than the 1/4 and 1/3 miles these guys usually race on, so the speeds are correspondingly higher, throw in some inexperience and this is what it can look like taken from the rooftop vip suite, pass courtesy of a friend from racing contacts, i tried panning a few but these are really hard, due to the speed, lots of junk shots, maybe 1 out of 12 a keeper, this happened right in front of me, but so fast even though i had the camera up at the time, i couldn't get anything usable of the air filled with flying sprint cars 76 360 ci sprints from ess and urc sanctions, 27 from crsa, 9 heats, 2 B mains, 2 A mains, nothing but wheels and wings all night long, not a fender in sight [attachment=1] [This attachment has been purged. Yep, that's what happens! Gary, sorry I wasn't around this year. At least the weather was perfect for racing and for the fans to watch/party. Will catch ya next time.
Oh I thought the picture in this thread would look more like this Last summer one day, I cant remember exactly why but I had to drive my moms car to work (maybe mine was getting an oil change or something). Anyway, got to work. no incident. Had been there about two hours when my boss comes in and says is "*** ***" your license plate?" im like yeah why? She says "someone just hit your car". I run to the front thinking a little ding. Nope thats what I found. One of the kids parents as she pulled into the parking lot hit the gas instead of the break, going over about a 4 inch concrete median and landing on the hood of my moms car. That was a horrible day. Everyone at work agrees that the best part of the picture is the sad little flower
