I have a question brought up by my son, Re: Cinderella. In the movie, dress, white In the parks, dress blue In the movie, hair orange In the parks, hair blonde Has anyone ever read anything on a Disney site explaing why they did this? It is not like them to make these kind of changes to their characters.
On the poster used by Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cinde ... poster.jpg which looks to be contemporary with the first theatrical release ; (1950), ; Her dress is mostly blue and her hair is blonde/brown. And image from the poster used in Germany (from ebay) shows the dress as white-ish (I'd call it more of a glacier white, though... definitely a blue tinge) with deeper blue shading, though... but her hair is still blonde. I suspect part of the colouring some are familiar with stems from film deterioration (in terms of the hair appearing redder), and film density (a lot of the older cartoons that haven't been restored look pretty washed out colour-wise... meaning a pale blue could well appear as white). But that's really just speculation... I can't cite references or anything.
