We don't typically put our tree up until Black Friday. ; But, this year we'll be in China during Thanksgiving and don't have time to get the tree up before we leave, so it may only get put up a week or so before Christmas.

But, this year, will be the first year in my almost 8 years of marriage a child will be celebrating Christmas with us

    Great shot, Tom.

It makes me wonder whether or not the tree will be there during PixelMania, since they'll be doing the parade at that time. ; With the tree and the garlands on Main Street, it's impossible to get a clear shot of the castle from the train station.

Dennis, the tree will probably be moved down by the castle. ; That's where I've seen it in other photographs when the parade was in production.

I'm going to have to try for one of these empty park shots, Tom. ; They look so cool!

Despite my sometimes callous demeanor, I am very sentimental. ; That said, I hope you purchase a TON of memory cards to document this year. ; It sounds like it'll be one of your best years, ever.

    Congrats.

On close calls like this, I let the market decide. ; The market for Thanksgiving revolves around the color brown, turkeys, and fellow Detroit Lions fans, so I just defer to Christmas (I don't think I need to belabor its great attributes). ; In actuality, I start spending long days at the library after Thanksgiving break, so if I don't put it up now, I don't get to enjoy it at all.

Tom, that is a great shot. ; I'll also admit that putting up a tree this early is a bit strange, to me, but to each his own.

Ray, you will find that this will be a VERY special christmas for you, as it is the first one with a child. ; Enjoy every moment of it!

EXIF says November 29, 2008 (that's definitely right) at 1:19 p.m.. ; I'm thinking that it was actually 1:19 a.m., but the time could be entirely wrong.

Or perhaps you entered the Twilight Zone, where 1PM brings darkness and empty crowds at the Magic Kingdom...

Tom, you'll be happy to know that Santa was waiting for you yesterday at the local mall. ; There's absolutely no line, so you'll have plenty of time to read him the extensive list of camera equipment you want. ; :)
