    I'm sitting here at work, posting on the board.... as our home computer is sick and we had to rush it to the computer hospital. ; ARGHHH... our lives revolve around that little box. ;

    It's amazing how reliant we can become on the computers... for banking, travel (had to book train tickets for DW), shopping and the required Disney fixes).

    I feel sooooo lost!!!! ; ;D

    So what are the symptoms? Is your data backed up?

    Would you believe.......

    problems started when I connected a new external hard drive!!!

    Soon afterward the system started to freeze. ; Sometimes it would fail to complete a boot-up, other times it would seem to start-up fine and then freeze.

    I've told the techs to back-up all the data (including 8000+ photos).

    ARGHHHH

    What a bummer. With Rogers I back all my photos up to flicker.
    It never ceases to amaze me how fickle and fragile computers can be sometimes.
    I installed a memory card read to my clone tower and if I want to print I need to eject the card reader or the system doesn't see the printer.
    I thinking about disconnecting it completely and just buy a USB card reader.

    Well, it's back. ;

    And... it's one of those things. ; When they set the computer up to test it, it ran like a top. ; They even hooked up the external hard drive... and no issues. ; Oh well, at least it didn't cost anything for my computer to go the spa for a couple of days! ;
