This was the only damselfly that stopped long enough to catch. But they aren't as skittish as the dragonflies. I did see a red damselfly at home later that afternoon...and the camera was inside. Sheesh. <img src="http://www.themeparkphotos.us/cpg140/albums/uploads/071607/A/226E0371.jpg" />
I'd have to look at my original file to be sure, but I think these ones were from a few feet away. My one from last summer was about 18 inches, but that was with the 28-135. And I could easily slide in at ground level to get to them.
