Well they let me make the ressie already!!! Staying at the HoJo's for Easter Weekend prior to my LA to Vancouver Cruise!!!! Can't wait!!!
I have stayed at HoJos many times. ; It is a great hotel - short walk into the parks, bright spacious rooms, great staff - you will love it. ; Have you stayed there before? They do book far in advance which can be helpful. They also can fill up far in advance. ; Many different discounts are possible - ask them (call the hotel direct). ; The Disney View rooms have great views - worth the extra cost, freeway side rooms can be a bit noisy. ; If you have questions about the place, they have a discussion board on their hotel web site. ; ... or you can email me and I can offer my comments and opinions.
Thanks! ; I totally forgot about other discounts because I was so surprised that they let me make the ressie so far in advance!LOL I've not personally stayed there but have had friends that have and they loved the place! ; Have been inside to see their rooms so I know it's clean and the staff is great! I took a regular room as I don't plan to spend much time in there, left the view room to families that could enjoy the view!LOL I do have a question, which is the easiest and cheapest way to get there from the airport? ;
There are 3 airports in the area. LAX is the biggest and busiest - about an hour away. ; Ontario, CA is the other direction about 45 minutes (but depends on traffic), nice big airport and not very busy. ; John Wayne aka Santa Ana is the closest - about 1/2 hour away. ; There are options for transportation from any airport to a Disney area hotel. ; My recommendation depends on several things - which airport, how many people, time of day, and budget considerations. We have used a regular taxi, the numerous shuttle vans, and the Disneyland bus. ; HoJos does not have there own shuttle like some hotels do. ; Taxi was the most expensive and not recommended. ; The shuttle vans were good and there are several different names (Super Shuttle, Prime Time, etc). ; As we are usually traveling in a group of 6, we almost fill the van ourselves so they don't wait to fill it or need to make other stops. ; If you are alone, they may want to wait to fill it up and then make other stops. ; If you don't arrange it ahead of time, I hear you can negotiate the price with the driver at the airport but I have never tried this. ; I have always booked ahead. ; The Primetime Shuttles seem newer than Supershuttle but there appears to be more Supershuttles around. http://www.supershuttle.com/ http://www.primetimeshuttle.com/ The Disney bus is operated by Grayline and is a full size tour bus with Disneyland written on the side (mostly blue). They run every half hour most of the day. They do stop right at HoJos but will make other stops on the way. ; We found this to be the lowest cost but not much less than the shuttle vans. ; The Disney bus does not go the Ontario, CA. ; http://www.grayline.com/Grayline/destin ... r+Services We have also used a smaller company for some local transportation - Tarun's Travel Services. ; Very good service and very nice vehicles. We were driven around in a new shiny black Suburban with no taxi or company markings on it. ; They also have limos. ; Flat rate fees. ; More expensive than the bus or vans but very nice. ; ; www.taruntravel.com If I had a little extra money - Tarun's Travel (really not a bad price) If low cost is the main consideration - Disney bus unless I am at Ontario airport or it is the hours of the day they do not operate or operate on reduced times, then it would be PrimeTime shuttle. ; The bus or shuttle is really about the same price but they have a group rate deal with the bus.
Thanks! ; That is great info to have! DD still hasn't decided whether she will join me for the DL portion of this vacation, so as of right now, it's just me! Probably will be flying into LAX as I am planning on using points for air portion of the trip! ; Hopefully will have enough to fly First Class!
