Disney Abandoning Ship On Pirate and Princess Parties?

From what we have been hearing the last few weeks (contrary to some other “reputable” websites), it appears that Mickey’s Pirate and Princess Party will not be happening in early 2009 at the Walt Disney World Resort. Even though some expected dates were rumored around the net, estimated 2009 attendance levels and “Pirate and Princess” merchandise sales as of late seem to have “altered course” for the after-hours Magic Kingdom event. While we may not see these Parties return anytime soon, I don’t doubt that they will return someday (probably closer to the next Pirates of the Caribbean film release in a few years). As always, things can change, so stay tuned.

As long as they keep the MNSSHP, I'm ok with it!

We did the PPP in March of this year.
Lines at the attractions we none nonexistent , parade was great.
The fireworks were spectacular. The best fireworks I have ever experience.
Really amazing how the castle was under siege from the pirates during the fireworks.

Too bad Disney is thinking about temporarily butting it in the back lot.

  4. I kept wondering why I was not seeing dates posted for 2009, but the folks at WDW have been pretty mum about it. ; This would really be sad if the P&P does go off the party agenda - everyone I know who's gone has absolutely LOVED it.

I thought it sucked. ; Both MNSSHP and MVMCP are a ba-zillion times better. ; ::)

They need to 'kick this party up a notch' or forget it, as it pales in comparison to the other two parties and that's why they won't sell tickets.
