Hello. I'm new here and looking for help. I want to start a blog about Walt Disney World and Disney related things. A resource site more or less where I can give links and info on sites that help with Disney Vacation planning, Disney products and etc. The problems is that I can't find where to get some stock photos I can use on the site to highlight the park and some of the great attractions. I don't want to sell the pics or alter them, just put them on my site within the articles b/c otherwise I think info on Disney without pics would be boring and sad. :0) ; I saw that Photo Pass has a great gallery CD but wasn't sure what there full license agreement is since you have to buy the CD to find out. Unfortunately I haven't been to Disney since I was kid ( I know, very sad but not as sad as my husband having NEVER been to Disney) and my son just turned 3 and is at the age where he'll be able to go soon but we probably won't be able to get there for a year or two. So using my own photos is out of the question for now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated .
Welcome to the forums mamabear2007! Not sure where you should look, as many of us have pics, and I don't think Photopass would allow you to use their pics in a blog (but it might!); however when you do buy the full CD from Photopass you get full copyright release for the photos, and that may include the sample images included.
Thanks Roger. Maybe I will email and ask for more info on the CD and license and see what they say. I guess it's worth a try especially for the price and the pics look beautiful. It makes me want to go to Disney right now!
There is a Disney press information site that may have the stock pics you seek. ; The url escapes me right now. ;
The only problem with buying the CD is you don't get every attraction or show, just the ones their staff pics for that term, but it sounds like you would be able to use them on your blog as long as you are in NO way making money from the site. Excert from Gallery CD: The Photo Gallery CD Sales Agreement and Copyright Release, printed on the Instruction Sheet located inside the Photo Gallery case, outlines the approved uses for these photos. You can make prints from these photos for your personal use. You can also display and use these images on your computer or television. You may not resell or use these images in any commercial manner. Please refer to the specific details printed on the Sales Agreement. If you have questions or concerns on the details of this Agreement, please contact the PhotoPass Guest Support team via email at wdw.photo.imaging@disneyworld.com.
@ prettypixie. I have emailed PhotoPass to clarify but I don't think I will be able to use them after reading the info you mentioned b/c of the "commerical use". I don't want to sell the pics but the site may have ads for the Disney Store b/c I just found out that they have an affiliate program. I'm assuming that would be considered "commerical use" even though the money being made would not be "directly" from the pictures. ; I guess I will just have to start asking friends and family to ask friends if anyone has pics that they would let me use if I give them credit on the site. I didn't think it would be so hard to find pics to use of one of the most photographed places in the world. ; Thanks!
