I work for an independent soda (or soda pop or pop depending on where you live) manufacturer. We predominately make Pepsi products for the upstate NY Independent and Pepsi owned distributors. Yesterday, I went out and followed some Mountain Dew around the plant. Yes, we have all kinds of conveyors getting the products from bottling to the warehouse. Lots of opportunity for panning and showing motion. Nikon D70/18-200VR, 1/10s, f/3.5, ISO 1600, EV +1.0, 18mm focal length The Mountain Dew bottles are placed in trays and sent off the the warehouse (left) where they are "palletized" (right). Everything is automated. A sea of bottle caps. The white Mountain Dew bottles are stacked next to some Lipton Tea on the right and some yellow capped Pepsi product on the left in the warehouse awaiting delivery. Nikon D70/18-200VR, 1/50s, f/4.8, ISO 1600, EV +0.3, 52mm focal length As an aside, since I knew the lighting would be tricky. I shot these in RAW. First time I've really used RAW and found it not much different than JPEGs except I had to move some sliders in Aperture 2 a lot further to get the results I was looking for. I am assuming that's because of the extra detail in the 12-bit RAW files over the 8-bit JPEGs I'm used to.
Cool shots! I like getting a glimpse of everybody's personal little world. Weird but around here, everythings a "coke". Host: Do you want a coke? Guest: Sure. What do you have? Host: Mountain Dew, Diet Pepsi, Sprite...
