it appears that a pair of bald eagles are building a nest in an osprey platform at the forsythe refuge. I hope so so I can get some in flight shots of them getting food for the chicks. The nest is about 75 yards away and it took the tamron 200-500 at full zoom and some heavy cropping for these on the D7000 so I am hoping that during flight they are closer

unfortunately they will be gone by then Scott. I have a feeling that the wildlife managers may move the nest to get them further from human contact. I hope I am wrong but whatever is best for them even though to get a good pic of the nest would require ; an 800mm on a crop body with a 2x ; :(

thanks John and I never will have the lens needed for that range. not at a cost of 17k.
Well Scott. thru some contacts I have with a some bird experts apparently eagles bond by practicing nest building in lower places and then move to higher ground and build the final nest for laying eggs. It is some kind of bonding process they go through. I hope the bonding goes on for a little while so I have a chance at a few pics.

Scott I stand corrected on how long ; the chicks may still be around. ; They may very well still be around in June
