Fifi is the last flying B-29 Superfortress in the world. ; She was going up pretty mucy every hour with passengers for the rides they bought (starting at $595). ; On Saturday she flew during the show portion of the day and did a few fly bys as well. ; Pretty cool to hear those 4 engines roar past, cant imagine what it was like to hear a couple hundred of them at the same time in the Pacific.

I am not sure what all the reenactors were doing, but I saw this as an chance to get an "authentic" shot (except for all the cars parked on the hill).

I couldn't remember her name but a few years ago she came through Austin. I didn't hear about it until the day she left though. Got to watch her take off.

She flew right over my head yesterday on her way to Akron. I'll see her up close this weekend at the Dayton airshow, tho I won't be taking a ride.

It's good to see the old girl again. ; She looks the same as when I first saw her in 1981.

Nice job on the prop blur, John. ; That third shot would look great hanging on your wall.

I wish I was going to Dayton this year. ; I should have made plans after they canceled the Indy Air Show. ; Enjoy it, Erich, it's always a good show.

Have a great time at the show Erich!

Great pics John, What a marvelous machine. Got to see it once and was amazed at the size and sound. My thanks to the generation of brave pilots and crew who faced danger in the cause of freedom. ; GR

You nailed the prop blur. ; Nice work, John! ; I agree with Dennis, the third one needs to go on the wall.

Great shots. ; Thank you sharing and bring back great memories. ; The last time I saw FIFI was in 1982. ; I looked back and found a few shots (my skills were not so good back then).

I got to see Fifi today, but that's not why I'll never forget today. Wing walker Jane Wicker and her pilot Charlie Schwenker perished when their plane crashed in today's airshow. It was about 100 yards in front of the photo pit where I was sitting. prayers for the loved ones of those lost today.

    :'( Erich ; :'(

So sad to hear that, prayers to the families.

I did a search and Dennis posted a shot of her from the Indy Air Show last year, if I knew how to link it I would.

It was sad to hear about the crash. ; Here is the shot John referred to, from the 2012 Indy Air Show. Jane Wicker hanging from the wing of the plane I assume was the one that crashed. ; The pilot on this day was her ex-husband, Kirk Wicker.

    RIP Jane and Charlie.
