I finally got around to playing around with framing in photoshop after reading Michael's article on Drop Shadow framing. Here is my first effort with a little embellishment of my own. I added a bevel to the image.
I've always like framing. Nice job. A couple jobs ago I had Microsoft Photo Editor which came with MS Office and I really liked the framing techniques I got out of it. I remember in a Flickr group called Rate My Disney Shot one nut case who eventually took his P&S ass out the group always made disparaging remarks about them. Check out this guys photostream on Flickr. I been out shooting with him and he does great frame work. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lightandimages/1756518520/
Not exactly on topic, but when I first joined Flickr last year, I was very excited about the "Rate My Disney Shot" group, as I thought I could really learn to be a better photographer through it. ; I quickly found out that people: a) get nasty for no apparent reason in it, b) give low ratings arbitrarily, c) "reciprocate" low ratings even if you explain your critique, or d) don't know what they're talking about. That's not to say everyone is like that in the group--there are a lot of talented individuals who offer thoughtful and helpful criticism, but there were just too many "rotten apples" for me. ; Really too bad because the concept is great. As for wybnormal, his photostream is excellent. ; He's a regular in the Disney Photo Challenge group, and always seems to be posting great shots.
Ya I know what you mean, the rate my Disney shot is an up and down rollercoaster. One of the moderators gave up because ppl can ne terrible. I have not posted a shot there in a while. But one thing I have experience over the years doing photo contest, nothingakes sense sometimes and you need a thick skin.
