St. Paul Pioneer Press - Calling all princesses! Your pink breakfast awaits.

General Mills on Tuesday rolled out three new Disney-themed breakfast cereals, including Princess Fairytale Flakes, which is both pink and sugar-sweetened.

Also new is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Berry Crunch, which, despite the name, contains no actual berries. And Little Einstein Fruity Stars. All three new cereals are made from whole-grain corn, and are described as "lightly sweetened."

Apart from the Disney tie-in, the cereals have another distinctive feature: a suggested retail price of $1.99 for a 10-ounce box. What's behind the bargain price?

A spokeswoman for Golden Valley-based General Mills, Heidi Geller, explained it this way: "General Mills offers a full range of products at multiple price points to deliver value for consumers across the full spectrum of the category — and the new Disney cereals fit perfectly into that strategy."

Plus, Snow White and Cinderella are on the princess box. Or, as General Mills calls them, "strong equities that need no introduction."

Hmmmm.....wonder when we will see it in Canada? ; For $1.99 a box, I might have to go back to eating kids cereal :)

I hope they do bring this to Canada. My kids only like eatiing cereal in the morning. I wonder how they would price it though brand name cereal usually runs $3.50 to $5 bucks here.
