so here is my latest, we travelled to upstate ny for the last 3 days, went to the horse world expo at syracuse fairgrounds friday and saturday, then saturday night our neice had a drive at vernon downs, 5th race, she finished next to last, horse faded from show at the half, her husband is also a trainer/driver and as he said " this horse lives up to it's full potential, unfortunately it has no potential" but my neice hasn't had a lot of rides lately so you take what you can get. we got to ride in the start car for the 3rd race start, i got the jump seat facing backwards, next to ann-marie, who controls the throttle and closes the gates up, the driver at that point only steers, what a blast, the noise, the intensity on the drivers faces, the flaring nostrils of the horses only a few feet away, unfortunately i could not take pics then due to the open window and a horse potentially spooking or breaking stride due to shutter noise
