Were staying at AKL in August and we want to try Boma. ; I heard its an excellent buffet and a great opportunity to try some African cuisine. ; Has anyone eaten there? ; Do you think we need reservations and do you have any other recommendations close to AKL.
I've had breakfast there... I can say with absolute certainty, that is one of the best breakfasts in all of WDW. If I were you, I would definitely make an advanced dining reservation. Jiko is also very good for dinner. If you're going to be in DAK, I recommend the Tusker House character buffet for breakfast and Yak & Yeti's for dining later in the day - both opened within the past couple months.
You need reservations. ; You can thank Disney's Dining Plan for that. Anyhow, Boma is a personal favourite of mine, but it's not for everyone. ; What's great is if you aren't up to trying the African flair foods, there is 'regular' stuff to pick and choose from as well. ;
Boma is my absolute favourite restaurant at WDW. ; Get reservations ASAP, it's very popular. ; Be sure to try the soups, they are wonderful, as is the watermelon rind salad. ; I'm pining for Boma as we speak.
Hi Real Fam, In our last trip in 2007 my family went to the AKL just to eat at Boma. I highly recommend it. I too had the watermelon rind soup and it was yummy. I am sure there is a menu online somewhere. We did not have reservations when we went but someone earlier commented on the impact of the meal plan so it would not hurt. It is not cheap at $19.99 each when we went. But the staff is very helpful when you are pointing at things and saying what is that. My daughter was a very picky eater at the time and even she liked it. Don't forget to try a chocolate zebra dome for dessert. Mmmm, zebra dome. ; Gggaaahhh. (That is me drooling.) GoofySteve
Boma is amazing!!!! ; We've eaten there 3 times now. ; I think the price may have gone up to $24.95 (not sure, but still great value). The staff is incredible! ; Eating dinner with our DD (1) is tough on any server considering most of her dinner lands on the floor, smeared into the chair. ; They have been wonderful each time. Still a must, I say...
I still laugh everytime I see that picture.... Unforetunately there's no turkey legs at Boma............ ;D Have you made a ressy at Boma for you crew while there in August
