Here's the situation...On July 16, my younger sister got married. She and her husband flew from Northern California to Central Illinois for the wedding and then drove from Central Illinois to WDW and back for their honeymoon. When they returned, they turned around and drove back to Eureka, CA with my father's Suburban. Now, my father wants his Suburban back, but doesn't feel up to driving across the States in mid-August. This is where I prove what a good son I am. I offered to fly out to San Francisco to meet my sister and pick up the car. I just happened to mention that if I was going to drive for three days straight and I was on the West Coast, I was going to take a couple extra days and go to Disneyland. I am proud to say that my "side trip" was met with little resistance from my father and my wife. Even better, my sister is going to drive down the coast with us and join us for a quick family vacation. The only issue that I'm having is that I started planning all of this last Friday and we fly out on this coming Monday, 8/8. I was wondering if any DLR veterans have suggestions for a first timer as far as good photo spots or specific shots to get that can't be found at WDW. We will be staying at the Paradise Pier the first night when we get in late and the Disneyland Hotel for three nights afterward. Any assistance will be appreciated. I hope to have a good photo report upon my return.
Make sure to get a good spot for World of Color. Not just for the sake of photography, but because it's a totally different show when viewed from the front. Totally different.
we omitted world of color since DCA was 1/2 construction walls and it was hot and we wanted to keep the kids happy. ; next time...
We got *really* lucky the night we went to World of Color. We rushed over after Remember... Dreams Come True and a Cast Member basically escorted us to the front railing as soon as we got in line. Absolutely awesome view for photos. Here are some tips for seeing the show, along with my photos: http://www.disneytouristblog.com/world- ... os-review/
First family trip to Disneyland for most members of my family, except me I've been quite a few times. Unfortunately our flight was delayed in New Zealand for 10hrs gawwwwddddd!!! Boy.... we were "Over It" by the time the replacement plane arrived to allow us to continue on to USA. The Qantas plane you see sitting on the runway is the one we were meant to leave on. ... I must say it surprised me that almost everyone in my family managed to sleep. This is my first ever edit, it's a little rough, but I'm still very much in learning mode, and have heaps to learn still.
