    Hello everyone! ; I am from ontario and just love going to Disneyworld. ; I have stayed with my children at Saratoga Springs for the last two years now and am thinking of buying vacation club shares. ; Has anyone bought them? ; Are they really worth it?

    Welcome to the boards!!!!!

    Were Disney Vacation Club members and love it! ; Best thing we ever did....... We have enjoyed many Disney holidays, made great friends from around the world and would highly recommend it to anyone. ;
    If you have questions regarding DVC, certainly ask away. ; There is several of us here on the Disney Magic. ; Also check out of some of the trip reports, you can see some great photos of DVC resorts.

    Welcome!

    I tell people if you go at least once every two years for any length of time, yes it's worth it.

    Buy where you want to stay.

    Also look into resale buying!

    Welcome to the boards! ; If you have a few minutes and would like the rest of the group to get to know you, here are a few questions to start.

    1. What's your first name?
    2. Do you have a nickname?
    3. What Province do you live in?
    4. How did you find the DisneyMagic.ca forums?
    5. Age (or age range)?
    6. Marital status?
    7. Occupation?
    8. Favorite food?
    9. What vehicle do you have?
    10. Which WDW park is your favorite?
    11. Who is your favorite character in a WDW attraction?
    12. How often do you take a trip to WDW?
    13. Explain your user name/how you came up with it.
    14. How long have you been a Disney addict?

    Sean and I are also DVC members for the past almost 3 years. We generally go down once a year. ; We love it and love the fact that our daughter will be able to get the most out of our DVC as she grows. ; We went from staying at very cheap and cheesy motels (before our daughter), to staying in such wonderful places we never dreamed of staying in. ; We love our DVC! ; The only thing we find a bit disappointing is our timing of going down is a very busy time for DVC'ers so as much as we want to try to stay at all the DVCs we usually end up at Saratoga Springs.

  7. hello hello - welcome welcome. ; I've been to Disney 17 times, and visit 18 is in planning stage. I'm not a DVC member - have thought about it several times... but my journeys are often arranged on short notice, and I hate having a spot in mind for a stay and not being able to stay there... But, I know there are lots of great DVC folks here that think totally differently than me, of course, and they've had great experiences. ; All depends what you want in a vacay and how you think your family will spend your time and vacay dollars.

    We are DVC members, but did travel to Disney World for over 18 years before we finally bought DVC. ; Well worth it, but we did buy resale as it is less cash up front, and you can buy in at a lower point value, so it's a good way to start (love it, we don't have enought points and now I'm shopping for more!) ; It does give you a lot of flexibility with your vacation. ; Sometimes I just need a studio for myself and my husband, sometimes the 'kids' (22 and 24 now) are with us and we'll move to something larger... we just spent a vacation with my in-laws at AKL Kidani and booked a 2 bedroom, so we can book whatever is needed, and you can bank and borrow points to allow for the vacations requiring more points. ; Also, very very nice resorts which I could not afford to pay cash and stay for one week. ; These points will also go to our children (they are on the deed) when we can no longer use them. ; My only regret is that we did not buy sooner ; ;D

    Coffee

    I meant to also mention the coffee. ; Has Disney changed their coffee in the last few years that they stock in the DVC rooms? ; We spent a few days at AKL Kidani in January and normally I don't find the coffee that good, but I found myself finishing off the pot every morning - my husband doesn't drink coffee and they had to drag me out of the room as I was trying to finish every drop! ; My in-laws were there for the last 2 days of the trip and they are big coffee drinkers and want to know what brand they are using now? ;

    I'll have to try it in July. ; I usually have my stash in my Owner's Locker and used to bring that stuff back for a co-workers cottage, so never really tried it!
