As I've mentioned before, I'm going through a "major scanning just to get it done too many years later" project. Here is from another roll of slides I took at the Hilton Hawai'ian Village Resort, which is in Honolulu on Waikiki Beach. Rainbow Tower - this side is facing the beach. Betty, one of their penguins. Waikiki Beach, as seen from our hotel room, which did not have a "beach" view. hah. I think the DVC resort they are building there is going to get a lot of business.....
those are great. I like the perspective of the building. I love velvia, great colors. have you bought any of the new velvia yet?
Film, what film? I haven't bought film in years, and only tried to use it all up last year before I left SoCal. Heck I still have a few rolls of very much expired MF film! Never tried the "new" velvia. Read about it though. If I was still shooting film I probably would have used Ektachrome 100VC if I needed a little more speed.
The building is my favorite - the rainbow reminds me of the way light is reflected on water spots. I also really like the angle and composition. When taking pictures of buildings I often forget to 'just look up and shoot." For some reason I feel I need to step back to get the whole thing. This picture reminds me "standard" is not always better.
The building shot is great, but my favorite has to be the beach one. I just love the shot of the water getting all those colors in it.
