Some of you may remember mention of South Florida's population of iguanas. ; We've got a few of them here and there (sarcasm...we have MILLIONS!). ; I've posted some closeup shots of them in my backyard, or up a tree...but that makes it look like they'd only be found in far off forested areas, and even then, only once in a while. So while commuting to work a week or so ago, I was sitting at a stoplight at 8:20am waiting for the light to go green, I decided to whip out my compact camera and take a quick snapshot of the canal and bridge of the cross street, just to give you an idea exactly how common these iguanas actually are: [attachimg=1] Remember, this is right in the middle of the city, with thousands of cars rushing by on two 6-lane wide roads at an intersection. Not one iguana, not two...but 4 of them just in this one zoomed snapshot. ; There are as many as 10 at this intersection, but the light went green before I could show any more! Just thought you all might get a kick out of a bunch of big, dinosaur-looking lizards hanging around the side of a busy intersection. Ah...the newspaper girls? ; I guess I'm used to them - I barely noticed she was in the shot. ; I see them every morning...the scenery could be worse. ;
