When I went to the menu to get to the sensor cleaning option, it isn't there. ; In the set up menu 2, I am only given the options for Language, Video and Communications. ; The other options aren't there. When I looked at the battery power it said full power. ; I am trying to recharge the battery and see if that is the problem. ; The camera is 4 years old. ; I have left a question about this on the Canon site, but I was wondering if anyone else might have an answer. TIA, Kim
battery level should not matter. i can't image where it would have "disappeared" to. ; at the risk of sounding over obvious, look for an option called "sensor clean" which locks your mirror up. fair warning in advance.... TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!
and always, always do this with a full battery charge, and have your tools laid out ready to go, it just makes it a little smoother operation
Thanks for the quick responses. ; The one missing piece of info in the Canon directions is the camera has to be set on P. ; Once I got a response to my email, they gave me an 800 number for customer service. ; Great rep. Got the camera to the right place. ; I think I got the dust out. ; I need to take some sky shots with the sun full up to make sure. And I just wanted to say thank you again for everything you taught me at Mousefest this past December. ; I hope we can do it again in the future. Kim
Don't forget when taking those sky shots to check for dust particles, to stop down to the smallest aperture - it helps see all the little grains better.
