    Americana at it's finest...

Color guards to lead off. From now and then.
    [IMG] [IMG]

    Politicians
    [IMG]

    Some veterans from WW II
    [IMG]

Some questionable characters to add flavor
    [IMG]

Throw lots of candy for the kids to get their sugar allotment for the day
    [IMG]

Add the volunteer fire brigade and equipment.
    [IMG] [IMG]

    A spinkle of home-made floats
    [IMG] [IMG]

Local cable access coverage and someone I hope didn't make it on the local cable access channel! :)
    [IMG] [IMG]

Hot rods never miss a chance to strut their stuff
    [IMG]

And, lastly, a pipe band to fill the air with drums and bagpipes. Leaving everyone to wonder...what do they wear under those kilts!

that's where the skein dhu ( the ankle knife in the sock ) comes in handy, to ward off anyone trying an authenticity check, unless it's beveraged up women late in the afternoon on st. pat's day, in which case more than one band member has happily and voluntarily lifted the kilt high for authentication purposes
