    I have never had much luck getting an AF lock on that scene. ; Nice job- what did you focus on?

    Thanks guys-

    Tim I checked- I had 4 pictures of this-

    #1 - (Above) Best looking but no confirmed focus point
    #2 & #3 - Less in focus and no confirmed focus point
    #4 - Looked about as good as #1 focus point was just to the right of the middle head nose

    I am thinking that the best possible af point may be where the fingers wrap around the stick. ; Seems to be the most contrasty. ;

    Good catch Jeff. ; I think on that one it's a little front focused...did you offload your 28/1.4?

    It may be a touch front focused, but it's a heck of a catch. ; No luck myself on that one on my one try so far!

    I've rethought my strategy on some of the dark rides - I think I'll be resorting to manual focus for those very dark scenes as I've passed by so many trying to find something to get an AF lock on that I never got off a shot. ; I'm thinking better to get an underexposed shot and have something to work with in post, then to come back with no shot or a blurry mess, which is my usual for a shot like that!

    Great Capture Jeff. The D700 w/ 50, 1.4 seem to be a nice combination for those dark rides.
