http://thedisneyblog.com/2009/07/17/mag ... ns-leaked/ John has what appears to be a location placement blueprints for a proposed WDW Fantasyland expansion/Toontown demolition. It would get the new Little Mermaid ride from California, and have permanent meet and greets for the four main princesses, and add a Beauty and the Beast restaurant. It also adds Pixie Hollow at a scale even larger than Disneyland's paltry one, which is better than what MK has right now.
Interesting...I'm surprised they would do away with Toon Town and the house of the one who startecd it all (Mickey).
I would be really surprised if they didn't have an awesome upgrade/ replacement for Toontown up their sleeves after seeing how popular and well planned out the one at Tokyo is (as well as hearing about how much better the one at Disneyland is). ; Would they consider moving it to the studios perhaps for more real estate, or blowing out a section behind the Magic Kingdom with a cool tunnel entrance to get past the tracks? ; Who knows. ; But I do think Toontown needs a serious upgrade and can see how that might be linked with Fantasyland's rumored update.
DL's Toontown - you have to go below the train tracks to get there. ; Unfortunately it's also behind Fantasyland, not to the side, so it closes (for the rest of the operating day) for fireworks every evening, even if the park stays open late.
I have been saying for years that there should be a restaurant based on the "Be our Guest" song and dance number in Beauty and the Beast. ; After all, the lyrics are pretty much Gaston bragging about their good service
