Hey gang - did ya miss me? ; I've had a couple of emails from folks here at the boards, but not sure who they are around these parts- this handle thing on the board gets confusing to me. ; (Hi Faith Dushku and Laura Thompson/ Mini-Canadian!) Anyhoo - had an absolutely FAB time in Newfoundland - family wedding, 10 grandkids going mad, catching up with old friends and family. ; West coast of Newfoundland, and Corner Brook in particular, is the most beautiful spot in the country - at least to me - if you guys haven't gone, you really should go! The only problem I had is my blackberry wasn't operational (thanks Rogers - nobody told me you didn't service western Newfoundland when I switched over from Bell a little bit ago.) Made it fun booking hotels in Rome and Venice, cruises to Caribbean, a safari to Africa, and a bunch of trips to Walt Disney World (of course), but thank goodness hubby brought our router from home, so I was plugged in and ready to go. I'm busy focussing on a pile of Disney clients right now - and of course, my own family's pending trip (yay, Mickey!) ; Can't wait. So, just thought I'd drop a note - I see HamHam et al are headed/ are there now. ; I think Sean and Karen were down east (did Kailey survive the travel ok?) What are other folks up to? ; Many other vacations taken or planned? ; I'm a travel junkie - Disney and otherwise, so I'd love to learn of others' travels. ; If you have a sec, post a note to let us know what you did on your summer vacation! Last summer we went to Nfld. for 16 days. Best holiday ever. Flew into Deer Lake. Drove to Gros Morne, then across the island following the coast. Finished in St. John's. I was on Rogers and it didn't work except close to St. John's. Denise's phone was Bell and worked everywhere on the island. We are going to Disneyworld Feb. 28th and staying at AKV for 5 nights. Taking son, his wife, and 2 granddaughters. Can't wait.
Hi Kwoodman - glad to hear you had a fantastic time in Newfoundland. ; I've just put together a self-drive tour for a client - had them fly into St. John's and drive to Deer Lake, but I'm sure you hit many of the same spots. ; Just beautiful country, but I always have to impress upon newbies how long it takes to get from point a to point b! The Rogers thing is wild, isn't it - they only service the Avalon penisula. Terrific to hear you're going to WDW in Feb. ; Sure you'll have a fantastic time!
