I am going to be renting a lens for my next WDW trip. Has anyone ever tried to mail back a rented lens from the world using the USPS?
i just did this after mousefest, no problem, i used lensrental.com, lenses arrived well packed, just save the box and packing, retape shut, and apply the peel and stick return shipping label they send with rental, shipping already included in rental, drop off at nearest post office, i always get the insurance as part of rental, no problems at all, in fact i may rent 70-300 IS again for europe trip, lightweight, not white and i was very happy with animal kingdom shots using this lens. $89 for 3 weeks with insurance, even after shipping i'd have to rent about 4 more times at 3 weeks per, to equal cost of purchase, for a lens i need about once a year but i waited to get home before shipping back, since i had lens shipped to my house and had to fly to the world with it in my kit, nothing to be gained by trying to send it back from the world, length of trip required a 2 week rental anyway to cover having it here at home in time to check out and pack gary
