Last November I had the chance to head up to Orlando solo for a business trip and took advantage of the free time I had before and after my meeting. This was really the first time I was able to get out to the parks at night with the sole intention of getting some nights photography in and was super happy with the results. Here are some pictures from that day. Got up to Disney super early and decided to walk around the Poly for a little bit. Was also my first time seeing New Fantasyland in person and worked out perfect that I was able to get in for AP previews. Only thing i really experienced though was the Little Mermaid ride since I wanted to wait until I went back up with my wife and kids Prince Eric's Castle by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr New Fantasyland by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Gaston's Tavern by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Be Our Guest by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Under da Sea by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Ursula by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Little Mermaid by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr This was also the start of my on ride fisheye shots that I have had some great shots come out of and are super fun to take. Starting to make this a little ritual of mine with these shots lol. Wonderful stuff Michael!! ; The Grand Flo and the Toy Soldier are my faves, and I love the skull of the T-rex looking at you on BTM.
I love your Grand Floridian shot - perfect warm light and reflection - a good time of day for that shot. ; Lovely photos across the board - I'm most jealous of the fact that you seem to have gotten those lovely empty parks that I can't seem to find anymore!! ; I have been going during the 'old' dead times - September, February, first week of January, and so on...but those parks have been packed lately no matter when I go.
Thanks Guys! I think I lucked out that morning and was relativity quiet that morning. I did luck out with having New Fantasyland previews that morning and that whole sections was a ghost town. Was so quiet back there they were filming a commercial back there, wished now I took some pictures of it but was in a hurry. We try and go during "slower" times which are really rare these days like you said. Early December has been our time to go but also early in the year also.
So after my morning fun at the Magic Kingdom I had to run to a meeting by the airport for work but was happy that it was only for half the day. As soon as the meeting was over I hustled back to MK to get some night shots in and had my most successful nights shooting up that point. Got into the park just as the parade was about to start and decide to camp in this spot for a few min and snap away. After the parade I tried to hustle to the hub area for Wishes and manage to weasel my way up to this point lol Celebrate the Magic by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Celebrate The Magic by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Was my first time shooting Wishes and was pretty happy with the result, aside from the not so ideal location Wishes by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Red Wishes by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Firework Friday by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Wishes by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Wishes by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr Wishes by Mike Sperduto, on Flickr
After Wishes I ran around the part like a mad man trying to get in as much as I could. The park was open late that night but since my meeting was at 7am the next morning I didnt have the luxury of staying out all night.
