While the recently unveiled Disney expansion is great news overall- one sad casualty is the loss of the Toontown Fair- which is a favorite of my kids. ; I thought it would be nice to have a collection of images to remember it by. ; So if you have some old ones- or an opportunity to take some new ones while it is still around- please share them here. ;
I will begin with this, which my daughters are already upset this is leaving with Toon Town. ; Even though they love the Barnstormer and everything else there- the one and only question they asked when they heard about the remodel was "What about Minnie's House?" ; :'(
Disney mentioned at D23 they might do something else with Mickey and Minie's houses. ; They thought they might want to keep Barnstormer, too. ; Of course, they were vague and had no direct answers as to how and where those attractions might be used.
That would be nice- I did not see anything on the concept renderings but of course much will probably change between those and what is actually built.
i will be sure to thoroughly explore and photo toontown during this trip... ; i always seem to forget about it at night. ; thanks for the reminder. ; see you sunday?
Absolutely- The Chip n Dale Campfire Movie that night is Ratatouille which the girls are not fans of (good) so they will be back in the cabin with mom by 9pm and I will be 'good to go' ; 8)
One of the people representing the WDW Radio Show said that in the press conference after the announcement, it was mentioned that the Magic Kingdom is Minnie and Mickey's home so they are planning on finding a new location for their homes
From what I recall reading, the Barnstormer will be rethemed (supposedly to Dumbo) and kept in that general area. The Mickey and Minnie houses were not discussed in detail. But, I did hear about the fact that they could relocate Mickey and Minnie themselves into a makeshift meeting spot sorta thing on Main Street.
I'm thinking I should get in there and snap a few. ; Very nice house shot at night. ; To be honest, my very first walk-through was in June 2009...it was never a place that drew me over, since it was so heavily kid-oriented and I don't have any. ; I decided to see it that June, and walked through with camera ready, but it was so crowded that I ended up walking from the train station through to Fantasyland without snapping a single pic. ; This past September, I never made it back over. ; Since it is going away, I may regret not having some photos for posterity sake.
