The men this time. Had the pleasure of being one of 31,000+ people to watch SU beat Georgetown this past weekend. Pre-game player portraits. From left to right: Johnny Flynn, Arinze Onuaku, Paul Harris As usual, our seats were close to the last row in section 306. Here's what it looked like from my seat. I get so-so pics from that distance with my 18-200VR so, instead I took shots of my fellow Orange fans surrounding me. The girl at the end of the first row is my favorite Orange fan, my daughter, Ally. It's been a tough Big East conference season this year so beating 8th ranked Georgetown was cause for a celebration and the fans, lead by the student section, stormed the court at the end of the game. This is a very cropped image taken from one of the crowd shots I took. With just a 6MP sensor, it's not the best but you can see some interesting subjects. Look for the policeman, girl screaming with her arm up in the air and another girl with an orange painted face. Movement seen in these pictures is from slow shutter speeds and not the lens. The picture below was taken at 1/60s @ f/8 hence people who were jumping around got blurred.
that was quite the postgame celebration for sure. i saw it on espn earlier today. looks like you had a great time, scott.
Great shots. On the last one even if it is a tight crop you got some great expressions in that last one.
Oy, they barely got by Robert Morris on Tuesday and our star point guard, Johnny Flynn, is hurt. He's supposed to play but only made it through the first half last game. If they can take care of the ball (ie., cut way down on turnovers), they will have a chance. GO ORANGE!
Chance? It's going to depend on which MD team shows up. MD gave UNC their first loss of the season (and that reminds me of the game back in 1997 where I was working the game as a paramedic when UNC was in town, #2 I believe, and MD sent them to double OT and won - and the crowd rushed the court just like your pics. MD was blowing out BC in the first round of the ACC championship and gave up, and basically lost any chance to go to the big dance. So if the UNC game team shows up, they can beat anybody. But odds are in the other favor.
;D Could be a good game as both teams have issues. Of course, that's why they are in the NIT and not the other tournament. : I'll have my PIP going as the Montreal Canadiens are playing the Boston Bruins tonight, too.
Maryland's had issues ever since they won it all in 2002. 2003: Lost in Round of 16 2004: Lost in Round of 32 to...hmmm...Orange 2005: Lost in semis of NIT 2006: Lost in first round of NIT (as a #1 seed) 2007: Lost in Round of 32
The "good" SU team showed up after the first 12 minutes. I just hope that team shows up again next week.
