For those of you who do not visit Grumpy's Hollow frequently, I have gotten the first 2 days of my trip posted. All pictures used, that are watermarked with Grumpy's Hollow were taken with my D300

Ray, thanks for posting these they are very interesting. I can only imagine the energy it required to write these at the end of each day! I could not do it, I had to hit the sack almost immediately after getting back to Scopa Towers at the end of the day.

Fun reading--thanks so much for sharing! I second Paul's amazement at your energy level during Mousefest. I scribbled some notes every night, but they make little to no sense anymore (i.e., m.very 6 night thund. [people's names] push!!!! 200/5.6)

I'm a very visual memory person. I can actually remember more from pictures than words. So, I actually use the pictures I've taken as my notes to write my trip reports

    Deniz,

With the cost of our storage media getting cheaper all the time, I just don't see the need to worry about throw-away pictures. So, I tend to have pictures that are worthy of nothing more than providing bookmarks to my memory. A picture of a sign for an attraction, or a blurry shot inside a dark ride. They are simply there to remind me the order in which I did things.

Couple that with my tweet history on Twitter and iPhone pictures I live blog, all helps jog my memory. Then I try to get as much of the trip recorded while I'm still at WDW and fill in the gaps when I get back.

It is a grueling process. I think on the post I threw up last night, I spent close to 6 hours working on it. So, my trip reports can sometimes take as long to put together as the time spent actually living it...haha

Great process Ray, that approach would work for me since I need those visual clues to jog memory. What's nice is now you have a permanent (backups!!) record of your trip that you could look back on years down the road. Another reason for me to get an iPhone!

I read what touv'e got up so far.
Dina's going to read them tonight.

You need to spend some time with us and RELAX!!! Wow you do a lot when you are here.
It's time to incorporate Grumpy's Hollow and start claiming some expenses!
I was exhausted just reading about your day! ;D

    Craig,

I'm sure I speak correctly for Nancy when I say that we'd love to relax with you and Dina sometime. But you know it'll end up in a trip report...haha.

Sometimes I think the transcribing of the day is more exhausting then living it. But, I like it when I hear of people who enjoy reading them. It's a lot of work and I need to know that people enjoy it for me to keep wanting to do it.

It's where the Grump comes to Wallow. So you know there is nothing but fun to be had :). I'm hoping that this new found spark will help me get back to my former posting glory. I used to be much more read than I am now. I just need that motivation

    Hey Ray,

Just had a chance to read all your Mousefest trip reports and wanted to let you know how much fun I had reading them! It's great to know in such detail what else was going on during Mousefest since you can only be in one place at a time. I can see why they take you so much time to write, but you work is much appreciated!! I've bookmarked your site and look forward to future postings.

    Deniz,

Thanks for the compliments about Grumpy's Hollow and my trip reports. Nancy is constantly amazed at the details I have in my trip reports yet cannot remember to take out the trash

I keep telling her I remember things visually and I need clues to remember things

Having a 13-year old helps with those issues, if he wants his allowance, the trash must be taken out.
