And the apocalypse continues.... first the Osborne Lights are killed and now this https://www.facebook.com/loslawnboys?fref=nf ~J
I guess it's time to reveal the second surprise shirt for Pixelmania. The Tsunami Tour shirt was the main one (art done within the next few days). But the other bigger surprise shirt is a Mulch Tour tee. It has now changed into a Farewell Tour tee. That art should be done within the week as well.
I had a vision for a shirt idea as soon as you posted that they were ending...I pictured a cemetery with 4 gravestones up front - on the left, a stone for Spirit of America, then a stone for Mo Rockin', and a third stone for Off Kilter - with various flowers and token items (a fez hat, belly dancer top at Mo Rockin, Kilt draped over Off Kilter, etc). At the right, a freshly filled in grave with newly patted earth, and a gravestone erected for Mulch, Sweat & Shears - maybe with a rake & a shovel sticking out of the ground next to it. In the background, other stones can be seen for World Showcase Players, British Invasion, Mr. Toad, Push the talking trash can...if more needed, maybe closed attractions, etc.
The preliminary art I've seen from the artist is more of a "Rock Your Face Off" group pic on the front and then I had tour stops and dates listed on the back (with cities such as Lawndale and Gardener and other landscaping related real city names).
I like both ideas! And Red, you have to know that I really love your t-shirts. The Gary coffee one is in heavy rotation in my closet. It gives me a smile every time I put it on because it so perfectly captures the essence of Pixelmania AND Gary! ~Joanie
Yet another stupid idea from the Disney bean counters. They might as well shut down DHS until the construction is finished. At least I'll be there in a couple of weeks to see some them again. And I hate to be a jinx but with Mulch and Osborne gone, how much longer will the Citizens of Hollywood be around?
I'l be there in about a week myself - headed up this next Friday through Tuesday. Obviously I'll have to add a stop by DHS to my schedule just for that, since it will likely be the last show I'll see.
I just arrived this morning, heading to the Studios tomorrow and Monday and will carve out time to catch a show as well. Very sad.
Never say never. Los Lawnboys may have life after Disney. I'm just happy that I can see Off Kilter next weekend.
The rest of the daily shows are being broadcast on Twitter's Periscope (App and Online)... Just search for @loslawnboys ... Watched today's 4:30 show and it rocked. They had a decent crowd, covered mostly Beatles, took a lot of time after the show to meet fans. I wish I could have made it down for the weekend.
That's cool that they're doing that for everyone who can't be there. Hopefully they don't have anymore technical difficulties with the broadcast. Apparently they overheated an iPhone during the 3:30pm show today
That's too funny, but I guess that it might happen when you stream for 20-30 minutes in the Florida heat.
This was the reason they are leaving DHS... They scored that Lifetime Record Contract!!! (photo credit to Lou Mongello)
