So i was on Google Earth (http://earth.google.com/). which shows you a Satellite picture of the earth.

I zoomed into the Animal Kingom area and just behind where Expedition Everest is you can see some kind of construction going on. The construction area looks something like 1/2 Kilimanjaro Safaris area.

So it looks like they are building something new at Animal Kingdom, i have not heard what's going on... If anyone else has an idea, then please let us know.

Wasn't there a rumour a few months back about some sort of "Dinoland U.S.A." expansion? ; Or am I mixing up my rumours?

I don't have google earth (and can't get it here for security reasons)... what 'side' of Everest is this on? ; The Asia side? ; Or the Dinoland side? ; And is there any possibility this development ties in with the monorail expansion talk (like, say, a monorail station?)

All pure speculation, I have no info

I don't remember anything about a Dinoland expansion, but they need to do something with it. The expanson area is not colose to Dinoland so i can't see it being used for that. It's more by the Safarie and Everest. I am thinking they are getting ready to develop another ride for the area, I personaly find AK lacking in rides, and that's why it close so earily. Another ride would boost the parks value greatly.

Actually... its early closing time is more to allow for training and treatment and care of the animals without interfering with their sleep patterns, routines, or taking them off display while guests are in the park. ; At least, that's what we were told when we did the Sunrise Safari. ; Unlike AKL, where the animals are on the savannahs for 22 hours per day, at AK they're taken to barns/alternate sheltered enclosures overnight where they get any medical attention they need, training routines, grooming, etc.

I agree, though... they need more rides there, and 'Africa' would be a great place to add another one. ; 'Africa' has Kilamanjaro Safari, 'Asia' has Kali River Rapids and Everest, and Dinoland has the Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur (plus the attractions for kids)... 'Africa' is under-represented. ; Of course, they'd have to be careful to put it far enough away from Kilamanjaro Safari and Pangani Forest trail that the animals wouldn't be negatively impacted by either the construction or the attraction (noise from the attraction and/or crowds).

Or maybe the continent with the strangest animals on the planet is getting a section? ; Koalas, Devils, 'roos, wombats, platypus, kiwi...
