Disney announces plans for a robot movie Jan 19, 2007 Bloomberg News - Walt Disney Co. said it would release a Pixar movie next year based on a robot named Wall-E and showed drawings of a possible new resort. The animated "Wall-E" will be released in mid-2008, Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger said in a letter to shareholders on the Burbank company's website. Disney, the world's largest amusement park operator, also showed concepts for a new theme park and rides.
Walt Disney Originally planned to have a certain number of theme parks in Florida. That is one of the reasons why he bought so much land! I can't remember the number of parks that he envisioned but for some reason the number six comes to mind! About 3 years ago i was told they are planning to start building a new park sometime in 2010. With Iger’s announcement or discussion of “Concepts” for an upcoming park, I am starting to think the 2010 start date for construction of the new park might be a reality!
Very cool... but the last time we were there they were making such a big deal about how some huge percentage of the land was designated for conservation, so it was unlikely there would be more big building? ; *shrug* ; Oh well... so long as they don't clear-cut the whole darn property, I'm sure they'll still be doing a lot for conservation in the state.
