Great review, Craig! I agree shooting with an ultra-wide angle (UWA) lens takes some work but worth the effort. It depends on what you want one for. For scenic and travel photography, you can get very unique shots with an UWA. What people don't do a lot is use a wide angle for close ups photos inside buildings. Also, if you are careful, portraits of people showing their environment can be done. Just a note about something unique to this lens, the star effect comes from the 9-bladed diaphragm Tokina uses.
