Within two hours of getting off the plane from Orlando, I was at the New York State Section III Division 1 Boy's Ice Hockey championship game. Talk about a shock to my system. It took me a bit to get back into the groove of shooting sports after being in WDW for a week but I found it by the second period. This game was played in the AHL Syracuse Crunch's arena. Better light allowed for better exposures. Still needed Noise Ninja due to my Nikon D70's limited ISO capabilities. All taken in Aperture priority mode at f/2.8 and ISO 1600 using the Nikon 70-200VR lens. Custom WB set off the ice after pre-game warmups. 1. Best shot of the B'ville goalie for the season. 2. Backhand goal as the puck just goes over the goalie's glove. 3. Save! The B'ville goalie kept his team in the game making 31 saves. 4. Victory...West Genesee players celebrate their win over B'ville by a score of 3-2. High school season is over for me. Still got the Crunch going until April. Might try my hand at high school lacrosse but not sure I'll be able to get close enough to the action, yet.
