Interesting... His description says it will be an FX sensor, but if you look, the lens in the picture is a DX. As a matter of fact, the lens looks ALOT like my new 18-200... :-\
Unlike Canon, Nikon's FX camera(s) can use a DX lens. Either in FX or DX mode. In FX mode you'd have vignetting, but maybe you wanted to go that route for some reason.... Personally I'm wondering if a) Nikon is going to try a viral campaign by unofficially leaking these things out there and/or b) if they really are going to put their foot down and not increase the MP. The tradewinds indicate that the 5DII will have a 15-16mp sensor, and like I've said before: people want quality over MP, but the manufacturers are still semi-caught in a MP war. A 12 mp full frame with the D3's low light capability is going to continue to impress. All Canon has to do is put the 1DMkIII's new microlenses on the 5D's sensor and you would find a camera that would be bored in the Haunted Mansion because it would be too easy with a 1.2 lens. But I'm thinking they aren't that...smart.
I think if you look at the pic of the D300 and D700 on Ken's site, you'll see that Ken did the 'photoshop' work himself on the D700 logo....same pic as he has on his D300 page
Current rumors are showing for a July 1 announcement from Nikon for five new products that aren't in the Coolpix line. Kinds of fits; it seems Tuesdays are the favorite for new product announcements.

Secrets are hard to keep in this industry, so I'll bet the other manufacturers have something similar in mind as well. But this is the second "released" shot Sony has fired across the bow of Nikon and Canon in regards to bringing the dSLRs to the next level. The third will be when they formerly announce their FF sensor with in-body stabilization since "it couldn't be done". I was reading Rangefinder recently and an article mentioned something that there are two things left from the film age in a dSLR: the mirror and mechanical shutter. Once those two are gone, then dSLRs will have been fully matured from the film age. But the flash looks really cool and is something I'm surprised took this long to be created!

Probably because Nikon EU hasn't released their prices yet! Someone's translated the magazine to say that it'll be avail. by the end of July.
It looks like an interesting camera if priced right. But I do not feel the same burning desire to have one the day they are released like I did with the D300- maybe because I am still so happy with that one. I think I will have to see some of those jaw dropping high ISO shots first. :

I really like the look of that flash. I like the thumbswitch for modes instead of menu diving. Also like that my MB-D10 will work on the D700 and not an entirely new grip- I remember reading some speculation on that when it was released and not called a MB-300.
