    And also Nikon is supposed to be releasing a 24-120 f/4 VR this year. ; I'm going to go out on a limb and state publicly that I think Canon's next announcement later this month is going to be an updated 24-105 f/4 IS of somekind (it may be 24-120 as well), esp. with the new IS system they have. ; Canon's announcement timing seems like a game of chess they are playing with Nikon..... (see below)

    And B&H is now accepting preorders on the 16-35.

    Nikon announces the D3s, Canon then announces the 1DMkIV, ahead of schedule.
    Canon announces the new 70-200L 2.8 IS (after Nikon's)
    Nikon announces two new FX lenses, Canon announces ????

    And you said they would never make this one. ; :D ; Not sure how long it takes to go from patent to product but I'll be one of the first in line for this lens if they make it!

    Yes yes I was wrong, unless it ends up being more expensive than Canon's streetsweeper. ; :-[

    I thought I was asking too much for a 24-300! ; :eek: ;D ; Wait, I got it...a 12-400VR II f/2.8-4. ; That should do it. ; ::)
