NikonRumors.com is reporting that they have conformation from a source that at least 3 new lenses are going to be released at Photokina: * AF-S 50mm 1.4 G * AF-S 85mm 1.4 G * AF-S 70-200mm 2,8 VRII Currently, the 50mm is out of stock at B&H and the 70-200mm is back-ordered. Maybe they're trying get rid of the old ones before the replacements come out...
Well that doesn't include the two other ones they SHOULD release. But I'm also gathering that Nikon's high MP D3 may be delayed until the spring. It could also be because it is the new "replaceable" sensor design. Imagine that - a 24mp back for studio/landscape work, a 12mp back for sports/video work (oops, did I say video, yes 24fps 1080p with AF thanks to the dual processors on the pro level camera....) A camera like that would revitalize the industry again. By bringing it back to the beginning. Where all you did was change the film to improve quality....
This ought to get the black lens/dark ride crowd going: http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon ... /1.4G.html
Hmm. Just that one lens? Seems odd, but perhaps they feel that they've released enough this year! Fuji hasn't updated the S5 yet, but they are announcing their new SuperCCD chip this week. I'm thinking Fuji is the one making the Nikon-design sensors....could be why Fuji hasn't released an updated camera yet. Imagine a full frame based on their new SuperCCD..... Rumor has it Leica is announcing a new body with a cropped MF sensor, so it is basically 35mm SLR size for the body....which leads more credence to the Nikon MX rumor (which could explain a lack of lenses if their designers are busy working on a new format!). I wonder what Canon is doing with their old MF body design. (I've seen a pic of it before, but it was never produced)
Its possible that they have a couple more lenses to announce. Each time they have announced a new lens, they have updated their lens brochure found here while they had all of the sites down at midnight. Since they haven't done that yet, they could have more announcements coming up.
