yesterday we went to the ny botanical garden for the orchid show, this year based on the orchids of singapore. the singapore botanical garden is a world renowned leader in hybrid orchid development. the orchid show is in the enid haupt conservatory, their very large old school greenhouse conservatory building, the only fault that i find is that they have no coat check at all, and it's pretty steamy inside. the show runs from late february until late april and makes a nice segue into azalea bloom, which in turn leads into the rose garden in full bloom. so here are some from the orchid show here is the hanging display over the entrance pond
all shots with the sony a7r3, with the sony 90mm f2.8 macro, set to close distance 1:1, most at f2.8 to isolate the orchids
thanks john, this is a pansy orchid some orchids are rather small in size cymbidium flamingo lots of variations in color, shape and size i took over 200 shots without much duplication, ended up keeping and processing about 187 one of the several interwoven hanging type displays lots of variation in colors and patterns
