Canadian travelers looking to trade winter snow for Orlando sun -- and Canadian ex-pats thinking about a trip home -- are about to get a lot more options, as Canada's two largest airlines shift to their winter schedules. Low-cost carrier WestJet this week begins nonstop winter flights from Montreal; Ottawa, Ontario; Calgary, Alberta; and Hamilton, Ontario. The airline also will add nonstop flights from Halifax, Nova Scotia, in February. WestJet already flies year-round from Toronto. The Halifax flight is a particularly popular one. Airport figures indicate that flights from Orlando to Halifax average 89.9 percent full, higher than any other market. Flights to Phoenix are next, at 88.9 percent. Meanwhile, Air Canada, Canada's largest carrier, plans to add winter flights of its own from Orlando to Ottawa, the nation's capital, beginning in December. Air Canada flies year-round to Toronto, with up to four flights a day, and to Montreal, up to 10 flights a week. (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business ... rint.story)
