I have all my Osborne shots from 2008 up and ready to go! Here is a link to a slideshow I uploaded to youtube. And on my site I have 28 photos total! click here----> osborne 2008 This year I carried in a tripod. All these shots are iso200, f8 - f11, and about 1/2 - 2 seconds long. I also shot in raw. And these are all taken with the tokina 11-16 at mostly 11mm. I am very pleased with this one!!: This one is a favorite too!: And finally, one of us:
Doh! And I had the 11-16 in my bag the whole time I was there. Oh, well, next time! Great work as always Craig and, may I just say, you two look marvelous! (said in Billy Crystal SNL voice).
Thanks everybody! Scott, I rented the lens just for Osborne! As a matter of fact we didnt get to the Studios until 9pm. (Our room wasnt ready until about 5:00) We probably wouldnt have even gone if not for paying to rent the lens. And, thank goodness for EMH or we would have missed it! Also I uploaded the high quality version of the slideshow. It's 18MB, but super high quality: High Quality Slideshow
thanks again! It was a great night as there was hardly any crowds. That allowed me to set up the tripod just about anywhere I wanted without concern!
Nice work! Good idea to wait until almost everybody was gone. I got some good ones will be posting them to my trip report in the next couple of days.
anyone else notice that the names on the dog bowls on san francisco street are "cagney" and "lacey"? nice little detail there.
Are those the names of the Osborne's dogs maybe? If you look at the stockings hung on the "fireplace" they have the names of the Osborne family.
Thanks Craig. Your photos took my breath away. I have not seen the Osborne light in person. My only trip to the world during the holidays was the only year they didn't have the Osborne light. They were building LMA at the time and hadn't decided what to do with them . Thanks again for some wonderful photos.
interesting... after looking into the cagney and lacey reference a bit more, i would have expected the bowls to be on New York Street instead of San Fran street. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cagney_&_Lacey
Have you noticed the great detail in the color of the lights? We never noticed until this year. The buildings above Yousguys and the Italian neighborhood are red and green, China is yellow...
ok, forget the youtube link. I have the video on my own site now. I have also sped it up to 1:55 to make it easier to watch. http://cdbendele.com/Osborne_Lights_2008.html
