    nice!

haha, thats the same shot I was taking when I first used the tokina 11-16 and complained about falling into the planter. I was standing up on that ledge trying to compose the shot and make the statue feel closer. I havent tried that shot again! :p

Funny...I even looked at that one, and couldn't believe how far away it looked at 10mm! ; I should have tried though - it makes that area look so huge and spacious.

I did the same thing Craig with the castle...I was standing where I usually do with my 18mm out on the road, but with the 10mm, it looked like a small toy castle in a big blue sky. ; So I crossed the street and stood right in the stage viewing area to snap a shot:

It STILL looks a mile away! ; Next time, I want to walk right up those castle walkways and take a shot with the 10mm, distortion from looking up and all - just to see how it looks.

Sometimes I like playing with that distortion effect the UWAs give when you point them a little up - but if you want to avoid that, just keep the camera level to the horizon or watch one of your vertical lines to make sure they're straight. ; Took me a few shots to get used to that!

that's where that gridded screen i put into the 5d really helps, both for rule of thirds and building lines on the verticals, and i'll make use of that at pixelmania, planning to spend some time getting to know that 14mm better
i'm also thinking maybe a couple of night shots down main street from the 2nd floor train station
