A few from Peter Pan at 28mm in FX- kind of a different wider perspective on a few of these. ; All taken on one swing through the ride- the line was long even with a fastpass. ; Larger sizes and EXIF is on my Flickr page HERE.
Great shot Jeff. Not sure why, but the London scene on this ride is one of my favorites in all of WDW.
Not really- the lighting and motion does make the AF really bad. ; I shoot in Continiuous mode- not sure what the Canon term is but the setting where focus tracks the subject. ; My favorite shot composition-wise showed a wide shot of both Mr. Smee in his rowboat and the Croc trying to eat Captain Hook but it was horribly out of focus.
Tim, I know you couldn't do this before, but try using the AF ON button and pumping it, and switch the shutter to no AF. For some reason if you miss, stop trying to AF since it will go all the way through the focus range to hunt. ; But if you restart focus it seems to move in the right direction. ; I wish I had more time at DL this last go around, but there is no offseason anymore, and Peter Pan was crazy even right after the fireworks were canceled (and most of Fantasyland was still closed off!) And to Jeff's comment: ; Servo focusing...umm yeah. ; About that...I have no idea how the Mark II does with that.
Nice job Jeff. ; AI Servo is the Auto Focus mode which helps tracking focus with moving objects which may help in this case. ; ; Will have to give that a shot.
Yes, I used the AI Servo Focus mode on my 40D at my son's swim meet this past weekend. For the most part it worked pretty good, although it gets easily confused with all the water drops flying around.
Nice shots! ; I too love the London scene, one of my favs in WDW, just want to jump out to play matchbox cars down there!
