Very nice Roger- I was going to try that same combo next week except my 50/1.4 is AF but I agree 50mm looks kind of tight even on FX. Maybe 35/2.8 would work.
The one stop difference between the 1.4 and 35/2 might not be that much of a problem now. Then again, I'll wait and see what other new primes Nikkor is releasing for Photokina. I see that a German site is reporting that they can order the 50/1.4 AF-S.
